<h2>About this course</h2>In this course, you learn AutoCAD Electrical through a project-based workflow, from interface basics to finished, reported, and archived projects. You start by comparing vanilla AutoCAD with AutoCAD Electrical, then explore the interface, Project Manager, icon menu, and catalog browser, and surf between drawings and components. Next, you create projects from standards and templates, manage project and drawing properties, and customize title blocks with new property values and project description labels. Wiring is the largest section: you set up wire layers, draw and trim wires, edit tees and crosses, number, label, and sequence wires, and build ladders, signal arrows, 3-phase buses, and cables with colored wires. You then insert, transform, and cross-reference schematic components, swap and link them with dashed lines, and use the Symbol Builder and Circuit Builder. The terminals section covers multi-level terminals, jumpers, parametric and in-line connectors, and wire splicing. You insert parametric PLC modules, fill PLC attributes, and automate drawing creation with the PLC I/O utility. In panel layouts, you add footprints from schematic lists and the icon menu, nameplates, and balloons. Finally, you generate schematic and panel reports, find missing catalog data, create audits, use Trace and Mark/Verify, publish PDFs, and archive projects.
