You start with Revit's options, units, templates, and backups, then sketch with detail and model lines, snaps, and modify tools. A quick project mock-up follows, where you place walls, doors, windows, stairs, floors, roofs, rooms, sections, sheets, and a schedule, before a BIM concepts section compares BIM with CAD and explains Revit's object hierarchy. With the basics in place, you set up levels, the building envelope, wall layers, imperial and metric column grids, constraints, and columns. You then design interior spaces with groups and components, including a conference room, collaborative areas, the building core, and washrooms. Later sections cover floors, ceilings, shafts, sidewalk ramps, curbs, parapets, and complex roofs, along with stairs, ramps, and railings. You build custom families, including profiles and a flexing furniture family with material parameters, and work with sweeps, reveals, stacked walls, and curtain walls with custom grids, mullions, and panels. Documentation topics include tags, room schedules, annotation text, dimensions, global parameters, color fill legends, view ranges, visibility overrides, and view templates. You also link SketchUp and AutoCAD files, use shared coordinates, create details and legends, and refine presentation graphics with camera views.
